Trepanier MacGillis Battina P.A. attorney V. John Ella will be speaking at the annual convention of the Minnesota chapter of the Society for Human Resources Management (“SHRM”) which is being held this year in Rochester, Minnesota.

Non-competes are a frequent concern for HR professionals involved in hiring and recruiting. Mr. Ella’s presentation is entitled “How to Resolve a Non-Compete Dispute.” He will be covering the basics of non-compete law in Minnesota and elsewhere and then discuss the many creative ways a potential non-compete issue can be resolved by the potential employer and the former employer without the need for expensive litigation. He will also discuss the surge in the use of non-competes, whether we have reached “peak non-compete,” and the legislative backlash that is taking place around the country.
