Trepanier MacGillis Battina P.A. is pleased to welcome V. John Ella as a shareholder attorney as of May 1, 2016.  Mr. Ella will focus his practice on employment law, business law, and commercial litigation, including non-competes and trade secrets.

Mr. Ella has extensive litigation experience having appeared before the Minnesota Court of Appeals, the Minnesota Supreme Court, the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals.  He has obtained successful verdicts in jury trials and court trials in federal and state district courts in both Minnesota and Iowa.
Mr. Ella is also widely-known for writing and speaking on topics such as executive law, workplace privacy and employee monitoring, drug testing, and common law fraud.

Prior to joining Trepanier MacGillis Battina P.A., Mr. Ella practiced for almost ten years at the nation’s second-largest labor and employment defense firm where he represented many Fortune 500 and other global corporations in all aspects of employment law and counseling.  He is certified by the Minnesota State Bar Association as a Labor and Employment Law Specialist and serves on the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
