On May 8, 2014, Trepanier MacGillis Battina P.A. attorney Craig W. Trepanier spoke about motor carrier liability for trucking accidents and avoiding negligent entrustment claims at the 80th Annual Minnesota Safety & Health Conference. Craig provided an overview of the different theories of liability recognized in Minnesota, including negligent hiring, negligent retention, negligent supervision, and negligent entrustment of a motor vehicle. Craig also discussed “best practices” for motor carriers and outlined motor carrier obligations under DOT regulations.
The Minnesota Safety Council hosted the Conference at the Minneapolis Convention Center. This was Craig’s second consecutive year presenting on the issue of negligent entrustment and motor carrier liability at the Minnesota Safety & Health Conference.
