Trepanier participated in a panel discussion titled, “Working as (or Hiring) a Freelance Attorney” as a part of Minnesota Continuing Legal Education’s seminar, 2014 Starting Your Own Solo or Small Firm. Some of the topics covered included:

- How to maintain the independent contractor status of a Minnesota freelance attorney;
- The terms to include in a Minnesota Freelance Attorney agreement; and
- Various legal and ethical issues implicated when working with freelance attorneys in Minnesota.
